About Us

The Elevated Closet’s mission is to provide more clothing options for TALL women. We know you have experienced all of the frustrations trying to find clothing that actually fits in the general market. Tired of waistlines hitting you at the ribs? Sleeves and pant legs that are too short? We’ve got you covered. In addition to extra length, our clothes have adjusted waists, busts, and joint-lines to fit your taller frame.

History: We started in 2007 as RG Maternity, a clothing shop for tall pregnant women. After eleven years of business and countless requests to add “regular” tall clothing, we relaunched in 2018 as The Elevated Closet and added clothing for every stage of life.

The Elevated Closet is owned and operated by Jordan Smith, a former WNBA player and mother of two.  At 6'4'' tall, Jordan knows the struggle of trying to find clothes that fit, especially when you are expecting. Jordan's mission is to empower all women to follow their dreams with confidence and style!

Canvas Rebel Interview 10/3/24

We recently connected with Jordan Smith and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, thanks for joining us today. One of the most important things small businesses can do, in our view, is to serve underserved communities that are ignored by giant corporations who often are just creating mass-market, one-size-fits-all solutions. Talk to us about how you serve an underserved community.

Absolutely, our business serves an underserved community: tall women. Tall women often face significant challenges when it comes to finding clothing that fits properly. Most mainstream brands do not cater to the unique proportions of tall women, leading to frustration and limited choices.

Canvas Rebel Interview 8/24/23

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jordan Smith a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jordan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

I am a 6-foot-4 woman, having reached this impressive height since the age of 13. Embracing my height has not only become an integral part of my identity but has also profoundly shaped who I am today. Undeniably, it wasn’t always easy, especially during my younger years when being tall presented its challenges. I grappled with insecurities, feeling out of place and different from others due to ill-fitting clothes and a sense of not fitting society’s traditional view of femininity.
